Tottenham manager search continues after Nagelsmann collapse
Premier League club Tottenham’s search for a manager to replace Antonio Conte continues after Spurs pulled out of talks to sign ex-Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann in the summer.
Tottenham rule out Nagelsmann deal
Tottenham had been tipped to complete a move for Nagelsmann in the summer after the German manager ended talk of a possible move to Spurs’ London neighbours Chelsea, but it appears that the Lillywhites will miss out on yet another managerial target.
After the dramatic nature of Conte’s departure and the exits of Tottenham’s other recent managers, Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santos, who were all critical of the way the club was run, Spurs have struggled to find interested, top-class managers who want to take charge of the club in the long term.
Tottenham look to alternatives for Nagelsmann
Spurs were in pole position to land Nagelsmann after the German manager turned down a move to Chelsea, and Carlo Ancelotti’s situation at Real Madrid took a positive turn, leaving the former Bayern Munich man with slim pickings for a job come summer.
However, reports suggest that Tottenham will not pursue Nagelsmann anymore and will now turn to alternative options in the market to fill their managerial void.
Former Barcelona and Spain manager Luis Enrique is now considered a front-runner for the job, along with Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot.
