Tottenham have reportedly tabled a club-record £69m bid for Manchester City’s Savinho, just hours after Arsenal hijacked their move for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze.
Eze, 27, seemed destined for Spurs in a £65m deal, but Kai Havertz’s knee injury prompted Arsenal to swoop in, meeting Palace’s demands and securing personal terms with the England star on Wednesday.
Tottenham renew interest in Savinho
Spurs also missed out on Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, who signed a new contract. With James Maddison sidelined for the season due to an ACL injury, the need for a new creative forward has reached desperate levels.
Their earlier £50m offer for Savinho was rejected, as City are reluctant to part with the 21-year-old Brazilian winger. However, Savinho’s concerns over reduced playing time—amid City’s signings of Omar Marmoush, Tijjani Reijnders, and Rayan Cherki—have fueled talks.
His agent is reportedly in the UK, negotiating with both clubs, and it is believed that a deal could be struck within the next week.
City are expected to make a move for Real Madrid's Rodrygo, if Savinho completes a move to North London.
