The striker was under investigation for alleged domestic abuse against his ex-partner, a case that had reportedly resulted in him being fitted with an electronic tracking bracelet.

This device was intended to monitor his movements, a measure imposed less than a month before his death.

The accusations, coupled with the invasive surveillance, appear to have taken a toll on Acuña’s mental health.

However, details surrounding his passing remain under investigation.
