The 30-year-old has found game time difficult to come by in the last 12 months and was on the verge of a move to PSG in January before the transfer collapsed.

With the lack of game time and the arrival of a new manager in Mauricio Pochettino, it quickly became clear that the Moroccan star would not be extending his stay at Chelsea. The Saudi league offered the Blues a way out and the club agreed a £17million fee with Al Nassr.

More on Ziyech's failed medical

The report states that Ziyech underwent a medical examination that identified serious knee issues and the move has been placed on hold for now. This surely represents a blow for Chelsea who had hoped to conclude all outgoings before July 1.

The Morocco international made 107 appearances for Chelsea but was never able to nail down a regular starting place during a mixed three-year spell.
