Why has Kellyman not played for Chelsea?

The 19-year-old has been sidelined with injuries and has not featured in a matchday squad.

Kellyman's lack of game time is a cause for concern, especially given that he left Champions League football at Villa to join Enzo Maresca’s team.

The Blues are currently struggling in the Premier League and are under pressure to secure Champions League qualification for next season.

Kellyman's injury woes have been a major setback, as the teenager has only made two appearances for the club's Under-21 side and has spent most of his time on the treatment table, as per the Chelsea Chronicle

This has prevented him from challenging for a place in the first team, though his opportunities may have been limited, nonetheless

Kellyman's preferred position is as a No. 10, but he faces stiff competition from the likes of Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer.

What next for Kellyman

It remains to be seen whether he will be able to break into the first team when he returns to full fitness.

Maresca’s side return to Premier League action on Monday, when ex-Blues boss Graham Potter returns with West Ham to Stamford Bridge.
