Tuchel to raid Chelsea for trio after Bayern Munich appointment - Reports

New Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly keen to raid Chelsea and bring two players and a coach to Germany.

Tuchel, 49, was confirmed as the new coach for the Bundesliga champions after Julian Nagelsmann was sacked, and in a bid to strengthen the team, he is reportedly keen to sign Edouard Mendy and Mateo Kovacic.

Mendy, 31, and Kovacic – who are valued at a combined fee of £43.9 million, top Tuchel’s transfer wish list as the coach returns to a managerial job since he parted ways with Chelsea.

Mendy has dropped down the pecking order, with Kepa Arrizabalaga being the preferred number one goalkeeping choice under Graham Potter.

He is also keen to reunite with Chelsea’s English assistant coach, Anthony Barry.

Meanwhile, the former PSG and Borussia Dortmund head coach has recognized Bayern’s immense quality and hopes to win trophies with the Bavarians.

"I’m convinced that it is an honor and a distinction to be contacted by FC Bayern. When you sign the contract, it’s a great honor," he said as he spoke to the media for the first time since his appointment.

"Even when you work abroad for a while, you become even more aware of the importance of Bayern. It’s one of the biggest clubs in Europe and the world."
