Two Saudi clubs waiting to rescue Osimhen from Napoli-PSG debacle
As transfer talks between Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen hit a stalemate, two Saudi Arabian clubs, Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal, have expressed interest in signing the Super Eagles forward.
Saudi duo emerge for Osimhen as PSG transfer talks stall
As PSG grapples with financial logistics, Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal, two of Saudi Arabia's most prominent football clubs, are closely monitoring the situation.
Both clubs, who are among the sides owed by the Saudi PIF, are capable of matching Napoli's valuation for Osimhen and are prepared to make formal offers if PSG fails to finalize the deal.
Despite the lucrative offers potentially on the table from the Saudi Pro League, Osimhen's preference is still to remain in Europe. The Nigerian international, currently with Napoli for pre-season preparations in Castel Di Sangro, appears committed to joining a top European club, and this could see the Nigeria forward continue his wait for PSG or decide to remain in Naples.
Osimhen still focused on PSG switch
According to Italian sports dailies Corriere dello Sport and Gazzetta, Victor Osimhen's priority is to secure a transfer to PSG, despite ongoing complications in the negotiation process.
PSG, keen to bolster their attacking options, have reportedly agreed on personal terms with Osimhen. However, the French club faces a financial hurdle as they must offload one of their current forwards, Gonçalo Ramos or Randal Kolo Muani, to fund the acquisition.
Napoli, steadfast in their valuation, are unwilling to part with their star striker for less than €100 million, though Osimhen's release clause stands at €130 million. This price tag has stalled negotiations, with PSG unlikely to meet the full clause but still hopeful of reaching a compromise.
