UEFA President Aleksandr Ceferin bags a brace as Slovenian legends baptize Magogo, Ugandan Parliament by fire
In a friendly bout, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin scored two goals as Slovenian legends trumped the Ugandan Parliament 7-1 at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende, on Monday.
Ceferin, a lawyer by profession, scored in the 68th and the 89th minute through a penalty and a free-kick to make five and seven goals, respectively.
From the Ugandan end, dignitaries, including FUFA President Moses Magogo, Minister of Sports Peter Ogwang, MP for Kampala Mohammed Nsereko and a host more were featured.
In a no-contest, the team from Slovenia was 4-0 by 30 minutes, and the score stayed the same at halftime.
The day's victors had taken the lead within just two minutes before they went 2-0 up in the fifth minute. The third came in the 20th minute.
Former State Minister for Sports Hamson Obua scored Uganda's only goal in the 85th minute through a penalty.
It should be noted that the game was geared towards charity, with Ceferin and the team having ties with the Aliguma Foundation.
Under Ceferin's administration, the Aliguma Foundation received a donation from UEFA aimed at changing slums through sports and enterprise.
