Jiri Prochazka demonstrated at UFC 311 that he is still the greatest 205-pound fighter not called Alex Pereira in a bout between former champions that was full of wild exchanges and the constant threat of a knockout.

Prochazka used head movement to navigate the tight rope in pursuit of a finish, even though he mostly kept his hands down.

A series of brief blows to a clearly injured Hill—whose left eye was practically swelled shut—caused a second knockdown before Prochazka swiftly dispatched him with hammer blows.

The Czech slugger did just that at 3:01 of Round 3, flooring Jamahal Hill twice before putting him down inside the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

Prochazka who is 32, whose only two UFC defeats came via knockout in title bouts against the current champion Pereira, improved to 5-0 with five stoppages against everyone else inside the Octagon.

The two previous champions took many chances and exchanged close-range blows throughout the tight and thrilling bout.

Despite his reputation, Prochazka asserted that his victory at UFC 303 last June was a result of a stronger defensive focus after his second defeat to Pereira.

Prochazka completed a stunning counter combination with a short left hook, dropping Hill in the process.
