Uganda one of the two African countries to hit the ICC T20 global World Cup qualifiers
Uganda Women's Cricket team, the Victoria Pearls, will play in the ICC T20 global Women's World Cup qualifiers after their impressive win against Tanzania on Saturday.
The Victoria Pearls tamed their regional neighbours by 10 runs in a hugely competitive encounter at the Lakeside Oval Entebbe.
Rita Musamali and Stephanie Nampiina got the Pearls out of their early slump, a woeful start that saw Kevin Awino, Proscovia Alako and Janet Mbabazi get dismissed inside the powerplay.
After clean-bowling Tanzania's Fatuma Kibasu, sensational teenager Lorna Anyait got Victoria Pearls' maiden wicket on the day.
She was after that pivotal in Uganda's second wicket as she caught Monica Iddi facing Janet Mbabazi, who was impressive late on in the game.
The latter would go on to add two more in over 16, as Musamali managed three wickets of her own.
