Unbeaten Queen Cranes storm semis
The Uganda U20 National Women’s Team, the Queen Cranes shared spoils in a 1–1 stalemate with hosts Ghana at the 2023 Africa Games on Friday.
Captain Cathrine Nagadya gave the Cranes the lead in the 10th minute but her goal was cancelled out by Abdulai Mukrama in the 36th minute.
The draw earned Sheryl Botes’ girls a place in the semifinals without tasting defeat in the competition so far.
Uganda’s tournament commenced with a 1-1 draw against neighbours Tanzania in a game where Margret Kunihira scored for the Pearl of Africa.
They would go on to win their second game played 2-0 against Ethiopia courtesy of Nagadya and Docus Lwalisa.

Botes’ charges gathered five points while Ghana who finished top of Group A managed seven points.
As runners up of Group A, the Queen Cranes will face the Falconets of Nigeria, who led proceedings in Group B in the semifinals.
