Track and field athletes have had a meteoric rise in the past decade, such that breaking World Records (WR) is now almost a daily routine accomplished.
In less than 24 hours, new World Records were set in four different events and across two continents, with fans and athletes excited about the possibilities the Paris Olympic year will bring.
Here's a breakdown of the WRs set by four different athletes and how they were achieved.
Tia Jones women's 60m Hurdles World Record
Five days after Devynne Charlton had the spotlight for breaking Susanna Kallur's long-standing women's 60mH WR of 7.68s set in 2008, with a new 7.67s at the 2024 Millrose Games, Tia Jones tied the record on the first day of the USATF Indoor Championships.
