Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde is reportedly keen on keeping his place with Los Blancos and is set to reject advances from Chelsea.
Valverde not interested in Real Madrid exit despite midfield talent
Despite Los Blancos sealing a £113 million deal for yet another midfielder, their third marquee midfield signing in three seasons, Valverde still believes he has a role to play at the club and is set to fight for his spot amidst all the talent in midfield available to Los Blancos.
Valverde has been part of the Real Madrid set-up, making his mark despite the presence of top-class midfielders like Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro, who now resides in Manchester.
Chelsea eye Valverde move
The Uruguayan midfielder has been one of the most important parts of the Real Madrid team, filling in at right wing as well when needed, as seen in the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool, where he gave the all-important assist for the game’s winner.
Valverde is a reported target for Chelsea, as the Blues explore alternatives to Moises Caicedo in case Brighton decide to play hardball for the Ecuadorian or he ends up with one of their rivals.
The Blues will be disappointed to find out that Valverde has no interest in leaving Madrid to join them, or indeed, any other club, as he intends to play at Real Madrid for as long as possible.
Valverde has a contract with Real Madrid until 2027 and the Uruguayan intends to stay until the end of the deal despite the interest around his services.
