Even before his release, the Mexican driver had been linked with a move to the future Cadillac team, and Verstappen agrees he would be a good fit.

"I think so," Verstappen responded when asked if Perez would be a good option for Cadillac.

"I think Checo has always been very strong. He had a few difficult moments with us, but on the other hand, that seems to happen often with our team. I've always gotten along well with Checo.

As long as he's motivated to drive, I think Cadillac would be a good choice for him, despite it being an entirely new team. Remember, Checo consistently scored points while driving for Force India, Racing Point, or whatever the team was called back then."

As Formula 1 barrels toward Spa-Francorchamps for the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen is primed for a comeback.

Red Bull's senior advisor, Helmut Marko, revealed multiple aero and mechanical updates are being launched this weekend and in Hungary:

“The Spa‑Francorchamps circuit should suit our car better, especially under the normally very changeable weather conditions. We are optimistic about that,” he said as per Racing News 365.

Verstappen, a multiple-time winner at Spa, has long celebrated its challenges, calling it “my favourite track on the calendar,” and praising “all the fast corners and the overall flow of the track.”

With McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri currently leading the standings and hunting Red Bull’s dominance, Spa offers a vital opportunity for Verstappen to reassert himself.

His history at the Ardennes, combined with strategic upgrades and renewed focus, could make the Belgian Grand Prix a pivotal weekend—both in reclaiming championship momentum and reaffirming his commitment to Red Bull amid off-track drama.
