The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have listed six players from Nigeria’s U20 women’s team in the Best XI Team of the group stage at the ongoing 2023 WAFU Zone B U-20 Women's Cup.

Alongside the Nigerian girls, includes four Ghanaian players and one Burkinabe.

Free-scoring Ajakaye lead Team of the Group Stage

The Falconets had during the group stages, put up an impressive perfromance that saw them finish at the top of Group B with three wins, nine points, and a remarkable 16 goals scored in three matches (without conceeding).

The performance saw CAF on Monday, name goalkeeper Anderline Mgbaechi, left-back Jumoke Alani, centre-back Shukurat Oladipo, and right-back Oluchi Ohaegbukem in the defensive lineup of the group stage.

In the heart of the midfield, Chinyere Kalu was named alongside two Ghanaian stars, while the competition's leading scorer Esther Ajakaye secured her spot in the attack alongside Ghana’s Nyame and Burkina Faso’s Sadikou.

As the winners from Group B, Nigeria will lock horns with Benin Republic - the runners-up from Group A, in a highly-anticipated semifinal clash on Wednesday.
