Rivers United have been knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup after USM Alger secured a comeback victory.
The Algerian side secured a semi-final berth in the CAF Confederation Cup - overturning a first-leg defeat to book their place in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals after a 2-0 victory over Rivers United on Sunday night.
Kanou doubles up to seal the deal
Defending champions USM Alger started with purpose, dictating the tempo in their quest for an early goal. While the second half saw a shift towards midfield play, their attacking dominance continued.
Malian striker Abdullah Kanou was the hero on the night for USM Alger, scoring both goals in the second leg.
His first, a close-range finish in the 37th minute, canceled out Rivers United's advantage from the opening encounter.

Missed Opportunity for Rivers United
The Nigerian side had a glimmer of hope in the 72nd minute when Andy Ogbai's header rattled the crossbar.
However, just two minutes later, Kanou extinguished those hopes with his second goal, securing a vital win for the Algerians.
USM Alger Face Berkane in Semi-Finals
With the victory, USM Alger kept their title defense alive. They will now face Moroccan club Berkane in the semi-finals later this month, aiming to reach the final and potentially retain their CAF Confederation Cup crown.
