Sad scenes marred a Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) match on Sunday at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, as irate home fans of Kano Pillars stormed the pitch and attacked the match officials and visiting players following a dramatic, late equaliser by Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC).

The game, a keenly contested league encounter, reached a breaking point in the 94th minute of play. Pillars, who were leading 1-0, watched in dismay as Shooting Stars netted an equaliser, levelling the score at 1-1.
