WATCH: Triumphant Kitende force Mulindwa to dance away from Vipers' woes

St. Mary’s Boarding School Kitende partly consoled their director, Lawrence Mulindwa, after enduring a painful weekend that saw Vipers ejected from the CAF Champions League by Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy in the first round.

Kitende was arguably the best-performing school at the 20th edition of the East Africa School Games held in Huye, Rwanda, over the last fortnight.

The school’s teams bagged all four gold medals in the disciplines they took part including football boys, where they stretched their record to 14 titles.

The school also extended their netball girls trophy haul to a whopping 18 after beating St. Noa Girls 41-36 in the final.

Their girls’ team further went on to retain their basketball 5x5 and won the 3x3 championship.

Kitende’s medal overhaul contributed to the 18 gold medals that Uganda won to retain the East African title.

Team Uganda won a total of 40 medals, including 12 silver and 10 bronze.

Kenya followed at a distant second with 25 medals; hosts Rwanda had two, while Tanzania managed only one.
