'We don't have that possibility' — Amorim casts doubt over Man United's January window activity

Ruben Amorim was candid about Manchester United's ability for the January transfer window.

Ruben Amorim recently admitted that he will not be backed with a war chest this January transfer window to bring in players that will function efficiently in his system.

The 38-year-old left Sporting amid a spectacular season to attempt to steady the ship at Manchester United. However, he has been failing in that regard so far, with four consecutive defeats in all competitions. 

Despite the lack of success, Amorim insists upon his 3-4-3 formation which has been called into question for its unsuitability with the current crop of Manchester United players.

What Amorim said about transfers 

Amorim was honest in admitting that the Red Devils were not as flush as they would like, and he would instead have to instil his ideals into the talents at his disposal.

 "We don't have that possibility in January,” Amorim told reporters, per Fabrizio Romano. “You know the situation better than I [do].

“It's not the case I am not arriving here and I can spend a lot of money, changing all the team. You know the situation so it's not a point to talk about it."

Manchester United are walking a thin rope with the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR), and their activity in the January transfer window will be dependent on money recouped from departures.
