The Reds trail Manchester City by two points and are level with Arsenal on goal difference.

However, recent results have been disappointing, with draws against Manchester United and losses to Crystal Palace in their last two league outings.

On Thursday, they were also knocked out of the Europa League quarter-finals after a 3-1 aggregate defeat to Atalanta.

Klopp laments recent struggles but remains optimistic

Despite this, Klopp remains optimistic about finishing on a high note.

“That’s the challenge in football because we never play just for ourselves, we always have an opponent.

So we have to make sure we become that opponent for each team again that they don’t want to play against – we made it a bit too easy and we should change that.”
