We knew we'd win from the beginning - Remo Stars assist king speaks on winning NPFL
Super Eagles star Sodiq Ismail claims that his team, Remo Stars knew they would win the Nigeria Premier Football League from the season's start.
After defeating Niger Tornadoes on Sunday, Remo Stars became the first southwest club to win the NPFL in 25 years since Julius Berger claimed the title in 2000.

What Sodiq said
Reflecting on the achievement of winning the league with Remo Stars, Sodiq Ismail began by acknowledging the collective effort that made the success possible.
He placed emphasis on the significance of teamwork and the crucial support of the fans throughout the campaign, projecting that the victory was shared among all those connected to the club.
“I will say congratulations to myself,” said Ismail told Pulse Sports.
He continued, “I will say congratulations to the team, congratulations to the fans, you know without the fans we cannot do it. A very big congratulations to them.”
When asked about the challenges faced by the team during the season and how they were overcome, Ismail revealed that the team entered the campaign with a clear objective to win the league.
He attributed their success to consistent hard work and the unwavering support from their fans, which enabled them to achieve their set goals.
“Before the season started, we had it in mind that we were going to win the league, and with the hard work we put in and the help of the supporters, I think we achieve our aims,” Ismail explained.
The Sky Blue Boys will be lifting the trophy on matchday 37 when they host Ikorodu City in the Southwest derby at the Remo Stars stadium in Ikenne and they will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League.
