Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca noted that they had to work on their discipline, after he was sent off during the victory against Liverpool.

The Blues secured a well-deserved 2-1 victory against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Moises Caicedo and Willian Estevao.

However, they also continued their streak of red cards. Chelsea have received a red card in three of their last four matches: Manchester United, Brighton and Benfica.

What Maresca said

This time Maresca was the recipient of the sending off. He was shown a second yellow card for dissent towards the end of the match.

His assistant, Willy Caballero, had the initial post match press conference, but Maresca eventually spoke to journalists. He admitted that they had a discipline problem, and had to fix it.

"We need to stop that,” he said, per the BBC. “We need to keep working to improve that. It looks easy to say but dealing with emotions in this game for Enzo [Maresca] was difficult.

“Fortunately it was a player, and only the last second because Enzo is so important on the side for the players. We need to work on that, speak with the squad. We don't want to give away more points and the chance to be at the top of the table."
