We want to win - Enyimba's Yemi who replaced Finidi George lays down law to dethrone NPFL champions Rangers
The new boss at Nigerian football giants Enyimba, Yemi Daniel Olarenwaju, who replaced Finidi George has made it crystal clear that his club's long-suffering supporters will only accept one outcome this season: VICTORY.
Yemi has taken over the hot seat in Aba and he's under no illusions about the expectations on his shoulders.
Enyimba boss on NPFL ambitions
Speaking in a video posted by the club, the highly-rated coach - who recently earned his UEFA B licence - declared:
'When you come to Enyimba, nothing except winning. The only language the fans want to hear is winning, winning and victory - and this is what we want to give to our fans.'
Enyimba, known as the 'People's Elephant', failed in their bid to defend their Nigerian Premier Football League title last season, losing out to bitter rivals Enugu Rangers.
But new boss Yemi is determined to put that disappointment behind them and restore the club to their former glories.
'We want the season to start soon, we really can't wait for the season to start,' he said. 'Everybody has been doing their bit in training, the training has been intense.'
'We want to win for the fans, we want to make all our fans all over the world happy by winning for them. Victory, victory - that's what the club stands for, that's what we desire to give them.'
Enyimba will get an early chance to lay down a marker when they face off against Rangers in the new Coal City Cup pre-season tournament on August 1.
The two Nigerian powerhouses, set for a repeat of their chaotic NPFL title decider last season, will be desperate to emerge victorious and send a better message this time to the rest of the league ahead of the new campaign.
With the new boss making no bones about his determination to deliver success, the Enyimba faithful will be expecting nothing less than total domination this time around.
