Addressing reporters, Klopp opened up about Liverpool's pursuit of Bellingham and Caicedo. "We were interested in Bellingham and realised it would not happen," Klopp disclosed.

He elaborated on the dynamic nature of the transfer market, noting the rise in demand for midfielders following the departure of two No. 6 players from Liverpool.

"The whole market for No. 6s went up. Two No. 6s left our club. The market heated up," he explained.

Klopp detailed Liverpool's pursuit of Caicedo, acknowledging Chelsea's successful bid for the midfielder. Despite this setback, Klopp suggested that Liverpool ultimately benefited from missing out on Caicedo.

"We found Wataru... If one of the £100 million [targets] had worked, there’s no chance to do another. So that door was open," Klopp remarked, highlighting the serendipitous turn of events.

Liverpool's Transfer Strategy and Klopp's Legacy

Liverpool opted to invest in midfielders Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ryan Gravenberch instead, a decision that has seen the team excel in the Premier League. Klopp's astute management has propelled Liverpool to the top of the league table, despite the missed opportunities in the transfer market.

Looking ahead, Klopp, who announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the season, aims to add to his trophy collection before stepping down. As Liverpool prepares to face Chelsea, Klopp remains focused on leading his team to further success in his final season at the helm.
