Arsenal's recent dip in form has allowed their rivals Manchester City to overtake them in the league table after topping the table for most of the season.

Less than a month, the Gunners were eight points ahead of Manchester City in the fight for the title. However, they managed just three points out of a possible 12 in a stretch of four games.

As it stands, Mikel Arteta's side are behind City with one point, who also have a game in hand with the season gradually coming to an end.

Wenger has heaped praise on Arsenal

The legendary manager Wenger has commended his former team for putting up a good performance and challenging for the title this season.

Speaking about his former club, the Frenchman told Sky Sports, "I think we have in every position of the team, a player who has the quality to deliver the trophy.

"If it's not this year, it will be maybe next year, but the quality is there, you know, and the team is especially going forward, very young. But I like the way they play, they are mobile, they make intelligent decisions around the box, they play well together and all the ingredients are there."

Wenger happy to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame

Wenger was recently inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame and was pleased to be honoured by the induction.

Still speaking, he said, "I’m very happy to join the Premier League Hall of Fame with Sir Alex Ferguson, I must say he is certainly the greatest ever Premier League manager.

"There was a lot of scepticism when I arrived in the Premier League, so I had to gain people’s trust. During the invincible season, I discovered what it was like to become a manager without fear. The team went to another level, above ego."
