West Ham star Declan Rice raves about Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck's song named after him
West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is the latest Premier League star to be inducted into the Afrobeat fan base.
The 24-year-old Three Lions midfielder recently acknowledged a song named after him by one of the hottest emerging rappers in Nigeria - Odumodublvck.
The Abuja-based rapper had since teased the release of his single ‘Declan Rice’, since the start of 2023.
Following the official release of the song on Friday, Odumodu took to Twitter to share a screenshot of a message he received from the West Ham United captain on Instagram who also shared his admiration for the song.
Odumodu also shared the message he got from Declan Rice on the day of the release.

‘Declan Rice’ is a rap song by Nigerian songwriter, rapper and singer Odumodublvck, that alludes to the West Ham United and England midfielder.
The first snippet of the song was posted in January on his Instagram without any information on its release.
The snippet which went viral, left fans speculating about a sooner release.
However, the rapper hinted on Twitter in mid-February that the release would be postponed due to Nigeria’s 2023 election.
The song which has been met with positive reviews since its release sees the Native Records signee open up on his resilience as well as his hunger for success.
A day before the song’s release Declan Rice also opened the scoring for England in their 2-1 win in the Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy on Thursday, March 23, in Naples.
The 24-year-old former Chelsea academy product continues to be linked with a move away from the London Stadium, with a number of Elite clubs reportedly eyeing his signature.

Tochukwu Ojoguw popularly known by his stage name ‘Odumodublvck’ is a rapper, songwriter, and singer known for his energetic stage performance and fusion of genres.
He is currently signed to NATIVE Records in partnership with Def Jam Recordings.
Prior to his latest release 'Declan Rice', he also has some fan-favourites like ’Picanto’ featuring Zlatan Ibile and ECko Miles , ‘Dog Eat Dog’, ‘Gutter Man’, and is also famous for his verse on Psycho YP’s ‘Bando Diaries’.
