Salernitana defender William Troost-Ekong has revealed an interesting part of his childhood.
Troost-Ekong spoke about where he grew up as a kid that many do not know during an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports Nigeria.
The on-loan centre-back and his national teammates are in the country preparing for a decisive clash against Sierra Leone in the AFCONQ2023.
Troost-Ekong talks about his childhood
Super Eagles are in Lagos training ahead of the clash against the Leone Stars as Nigeria looks to book a spot in next year’s AFCON slated for Ivory Coast.
Troost-Ekong and his Super Eagles teammates have been in camp and training since Monday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
However, the team had a timeout with the media on Wednesday with the Watford defender speaking to Pulse Sports.
During the chat, Ekong reveals an important part of his childhood as he explained the tattoos on his body as reported by Pulse Sports.
“(The tattoos) on my arm pay homage to my roots - being a Nigerian and spending a lot of time in Nigeria,” he told Pulse Sports.
“I think that is one thing people don’t know - that when i was a kid I spent a lot of time in Nigeria.”
“I wasn’t born here but i was here (in Lagos) four months out of the year. My father still lives in Lagos,” he added.
Troost-Ekong, who is Nigeria’s assistant captain, has represented Nigeria 49 times and scored four goals.
