What PL record did Super Eagles powerhouse Onyeka watch Brentford set against Man United?
Brentford have become the first team in the Premier League this season to record over 80 touches inside the opposition's box in a single game.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that Nigerian international Frank Onyeka watched from the bench as the Bees put on an impressive attacking display, dominating possession and creating numerous chances against Manchester United at the Community Stadium.
Onyeka benched as Brentford Lay Siege
Despite the heroics of Manchester United's new £60 million signing Mason Mount, who came off the bench to score his first goal for the Red Devils, Brentford were able to find a deserved late equalizer to share the points.
Brentford's impressive attacking ability was on full display, as they recorded an astounding 80+ touches inside the Manchester United box.
This is the highest number of touches in the opposition's box by any team in the Premier League so far this season.
The Bees peppered the United goal, attempting a total of 31 shots, four of which hit the woodwork. Their relentless pressure and high-tempo play made it difficult for the visitors to gain a foothold in the game.
Mason Mount Scores for Manchester United
Despite Brentford's dominance, United managed to take the lead late in the game thanks to a goal from new signing Mount. The £60 million midfielder, who joined from Chelsea, came off the bench to score what looked like the winning goal for Erik ten Hag's side.
However, Brentford's persistence paid off, and they found a late equaliser to salvage a point from the match.
The result was hardly a fair reflection of the game, with Brentford's impressive attacking display and their ability to hit the woodwork four times suggesting they deserved more than a point from the encounter.
The Bees' performance will undoubtedly raise eyebrows and serve as a warning to the rest of the Premier League that they are a force to be reckoned with this season.
