Super Eagles goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye has spoken glowingly about how much he likes Cameroonian superstar Andre Onana.

Adeleye revealed this during an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports Nigeria at the Super Eagles' first training session in Lagos. 

Adebayo Adeleye is favourite to start in goal for Super Eagles vs Sierra Leone.

The Hapoel Jerusalem star was one of 21 players spotted by Pulse Sports Nigeria at the Super Eagles training inside the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, on Monday.

Adeleye’s affinity for Onana

Onana has been trending since the Champions League final between his club Inter Milan and Manchester City. 

Despite losing to the English champions at the weekend, the Cameroon international has been trending with Manchester United fans impressed with his performance against neighbours City on Saturday.

Adeleye, who confirmed that he watched the exhilarating Champions League final, reacted to suggestions that he shares a striking resemblance with the Inter man.

Speaking exclusively to Pulse Sports moments after training, Adeleye revealed that he likes the Cameroonian’s style of play and enjoys watching him. 

“People see different things but I just like to watch him when he plays, Adeleye told Pulse Sports.

“I love his playing style, I like him and like to watch him. So, I feel it is good to be compared with a top goalkeeper in the world.”

The 23-year-old added that how Onana plays is a style that is good for him. 

“Yes, I like to play with the feet a lot,” he added. “I like it because when I play with my team in Israel, we move the ball a lot, play out from the back, you know? Do a lot of stuff with the leg.”

Adeleye could make his first competitive debut this Sunday when they Super Eagles battle Sierra Leone in an important AFCON qualifier.
