Why Manchester United's Hojlund is unavailabe to play against Nottingham Forest
Manchester United's hero against Aston Villa, Rasmus Hojlund, is set to miss the upcoming Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest due to illness, dealing a blow to the Red Devils' aspirations in their last game of the year.
Manchester United lose rising Hojlund
The Danish striker, who recently made headlines by scoring his maiden Premier League goal in Manchester United's thrilling 3-2 victory over Aston Villa, will be unavailable for selection.
The announcement came just an hour before the crucial match, leaving manager Erik ten Hag to reshuffle his starting lineup.
Brazilian winger Antony is expected to step in and fill the void left by Hojlund's absence, with Ten Hag expressing disappointment at losing the young talent for this important fixture.
Ten Hag reveals Hojlund loss
Speaking ahead of the match against Nottingham Forest, Ten Hag revealed Hojlund’s illness saying, "Rasmus Højlund is not available today due to illness. He doesn't have the energy to start or be on the bench. You have to deal with it.”
The Red Devils, currently seeking to secure a win against Nottingham Forest to close out the year on a high note, will face the challenge without the contributions of Hojlund.
They will be unhappy with Hojlund’s setback as the Danish striker had just started finding his feet in the Premier League following his first goal in the competition.
