The French left-back joined Los Blancos in 2019 for €48 million from Olympique Lyon.
Since then, Mendy has been a mainstay, making 201 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing nine assists. He even displaced the legendary Marcelo from the starting lineup.
Ferland Mendy up for sale
Mendy's future at the Bernabéu appears uncertain, with AS, via GSP, reporting that Real Madrid's management plans to offload him this summer, aiming to recoup a significant fee.
One reason for this decision is the arrival of Alvaro Carreras. The 22-year-old Spanish player recently signed a six-year contract and is expected to be Xabi Alonso's first-choice left-back.
Furthermore, according to the same source, Mendy's main competition won't be Carreras but Fran Garcia, who capitalized on Mendy's injuries last season to earn considerable playing time under Carlo Ancelotti.

Garcia also started well under Alonso, playing the full 90 minutes in all of Real Madrid's Club World Cup matches, where they reached the semi-finals before losing 4-0 to Champions League winners PSG.
Mendy's days in the Spanish capital appear to be numbered. Although his contract runs until 2028, reports suggest it's unlikely he'll remain at the Bernabéu next season.
