Yamal reveals how he reacted when his father got stabbed
Barcelona star Lamine Yamal recently retold the story of his father's stabbings, revealing that his family tried to protect him, refusing to allow him to visit his father.
Yamal's father's stabbing
As Pulse Sports reported, Yamal's father, Mounir Nasraoui, was the victim of a serious assault—stabbing.
The attack took place in a car park in the town of Mataró, near Barcelona, according to Lavanguardia.
Nasraoui was then rushed to the Can Ruti hospital in Badalona, where his condition is described as 'serious'. His father has, however, since recovered.
What Yamal said
In a recent interview with Jose Ramon de la Morena on Renonancia de Corazon, Yamal, who was set to play Valencia relived the event.
“I was in the car with my cousin Moha,” he said, per Football Espana. “I had CarPlay on, which connects your phone to the speakers, and my cousin, who was in Morocco, called me. She asked, ‘Are you alone?’ She started telling me about it, and more calls came in too. At that moment, I was a 16-year-old kid.
“The first thing I did was get out of the car and try to go to the train station in Mataró. Imagine being a kid and hearing that your father has been stabbed. I tried to get on the train, but my cousin wouldn’t let me.
“I told him to take me to Mataró, or I’d never speak to him again, but they wouldn’t let me. They locked me in the house, and I tried to get out. It was a tough time, and I had training the next day. Then my dad called and told me he was okay and to stay calm. I went to see him in the hospital the next day, and everything calmed down.”
