Jimmy Enabu, Fayed Baale and Rogers Dauna, who all missed Saturday’s clash with Corte d’Ivoire, returned into the line-up but could not stop the bleeding as Uganda fell for the third time in three days.

The Silverbacks completed their business in the Fiba Basketball World Cup African Qualifiers with yet another disappointing loss to Guinea on Sunday.

Uganda were in sixes and sevens against Guinea and lost by 41 points (88-47) in a game the team struggled to cope with a full court press of the opponent.

Jimmy Enabu, Fayed Baale and Rogers Dauna, who all missed Saturday’s clash with Corte d’Ivoire, returned into the line-up but could not stop the bleeding as Uganda fell for the third time in three days.

Guinea got out of the blocks early and put pressure on the ball to force Uganda into committing turnovers.

Enabu’s free throw to end the first quarter was only reducing the deficit to nine points (25-16).

The Andrew Tendo-coached side had glimpses, like Titus Lual shooting from beyond the arc but Guinea just had enough man power to remain on top.

Zelijko Zecevic’s charges dominated the boards, collecting 51 rebounds compared to Uganda’s 21 and that made the difference.

The Silverbacks have been the smaller team, both in numbers and size, in every game they played.

Having travelled with just nine players, it is only James Okello, Stanley Mugerwa and Lual who are the bigs on the team but they all faced a rough time against Guinea.

Uganda had their best run in the second quarter, going punch for punch with Guinea but fatigue was bound to kick in come the second half.

Guinea took the third and fourth quarters 25-09 and 18-02 respectively for a comfortable win.

Lual and Ceaser Kizito scored 12 and 10 points respectively and were the only Silverbacks in double figures.

Okello added eight points and nine rebounds while Enabu got seven points, four rebounds and three assists.

Cheick Conde had a game high 25 points to lead Guinea’s offense and added 10 rebounds for a double-double.
