The UCU Canons edged Our Savior 67-66 in a thriller played at the KIU court in the National Basketball League.

In a game so close from start to finish, both teams traded points as each quarter ended with less than a 10 points difference.

Peter Sifuma was elected man of the match with a 15-point 12 rebound double as he bounced back after only ten minutes in the last game.

Canons captain Ibanda Lwabaga says the team showed character in the victory, enabling them to succeed.

"It was a good team win, we had a bad third quarter, but we showed character in the fourth quarter by limiting turnovers to get the win,” Lwabaga told Pulse Sports.

Moses Mugisha was not to be left behind, as he also got his double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The victory meant that the Canons got revenge after their first-round loss to their opponents.

The Canons ascend to second place on the table while Our Savior is in fifth place, firmly in contention for the playoffs.

The UCU Canons face the KIU Titans next in a blockbuster encounter battle for second.
