The National Basketball League finals are set to ignite as eight-time defending champions, City Oilers, prepare to face off against Our Savior this Sunday at the YMCA court.

While many anticipate City Oilers swiftly overcoming the underdog status of Our Savior, reigning USPA basketball player of the year, Tonny Drileba, dispels any notion of complacency among the Oilers.

“We have been in this situation before, and complacency creeps in when you start thinking that way. We won’t entertain such thoughts; our focus is solely on securing victory,” Drileba told Pulse Sports.

“We recognize that this marks the climax of the season, and the recent practice sessions have been intense, particularly on the defensive end. We’ve done all the necessary preparations for tomorrow’s game.”

He added: “Winning the first game will set the tone for the entire series, especially in a five-game format. The team is primed with a winning mentality from the get-go.”

The defending champions enter this series as the favorites against Our Savior, but they too aim to make their mark with a potential upset.
