March sports madness has served us another treat as brothers Arthur Kaluma, and Adam Seiko are scheduled to meet for a place in the final four of the NCAA tournament.

For many Ugandan basketball fans, this matchup was hoped for after selection Sunday, and it is finally here.

Kaluma's Creighton Blue Jays and Seiko's San Diego State will meet in the Elite 8 in Louisville on Sunday night with family bragging rights on the line.

This is the second consecutive year that these teams meet in the NCAA tournament after that 72- 69 overtime win for Creighton last year in the first round.

San Diego State eliminated favourites and number one seed, Alabama, 71- 64, while the Blue Jays overcame Princeton, 86-75, in the previous round.

San Diego State has put out a defensive clinic in the first three rounds, and it carried over to its upset win over the Crimson Tide of Alabama.

Creighton, on the other hand, are one of two Big East teams left and have not been this deep in tournament history since 1941; they go in as slight favourites.

In a tale of the tape between the brothers, sophomore Kaluma averaged 11 points, six rebounds, and 1.7 assists during the 2022- 2023 season.

Seiko averaged 6.2 points and 1.4 rebounds with an impressive 40% shooting from beyond the arc during the 2022- 2023 season for the Aztecs.

Win or lose; either team will have a Ugandan represented in the final four of the NCAA tournament for the first time in tournament history.
