Newly promoted side Rezlife Saints is one of the teams yet to register a win after three games played so far, with their 55-88 loss to City Oil on Wednesday night being their third of the campaign.

The start of the National Basketball League has been challenging for some teams, especially those that have been in the firing line of the eight-time league champions City Oil.

Newly promoted side Rezlife Saints is one of the teams yet to register a win after three games played so far, with their 55-88 loss to City Oil on Wednesday night being their third of the campaign.

Head coach Daniel Juuko Najja who is venturing into uncharted territory as coach after a seven-year trophy-laden career with City Oilers, says it’s been a tough start for his charges.

“It’s tough (coaching), you need to learn many things in a short period as you keep the players focused, but we’re getting better and improving by the game,” Najja told Pulse Sports.

“We have improved in all our three games played so far, and we just have to improve on our decision-making to avoid unnecessary turnovers.”

“Our maintain target remains to maintain our top-flight status.” He noted.

The next two fixtures against Ndejje University and Our Savior present an opportunity for Rezlife Saints to rise from their ruins. The Oilers are the top team, having set a record of 0-4.

The National Basketball League resumes on Friday, with UCU Lady Canons taking on the JT Lady Jaguars while the men’s UCU Canons side faces Namuwongo Blazers.
