It was a good day at the office for Abia Warriors and Enugu Rangers following much-need victories in the NPFL.

Both clubs were the biggest winners in Group B after a combined six goals scored across two matches.

The two clubs were at home, Abia Warriors thrashed their visitors Dakkada FC 3-0 in Umuahia while Rangers made a meal of Wikki Tourist in Awka by a similar scoreline.

After the Warriors were undressed in Minna the last time, they returned to winning ways in the best possible way.

Bello Lukman was the star of the day for the Ochendo Babes following a dominant win.

Lukman netted two late goals after Sunday Megwo’s second minute opener to inspire the Warriors to a quick return to winning ways and boost their Super Six chances.

With the win, Abia Warriors move into third place on 24 points, one more than defending champions Rivers United who sit fourth but have three games in hand.

Respite for Rangers

The Flying Antelopes were the biggest winners on the after registering their first win in five matches.

Chidiebere Nwobodo was the obvious hero and star for the Antelopes who eased their relegation worries with the much-needed win.

Enugu Rangers won their first game in five matches.

Nwobodo fired a goal in either half to give Enugu Rangers a comfortable 2-0 lead over Wikki before Pam Samuel sealed the win with a late goal.

The win was ended a run of four consecutive draws for Abdul Maikaba’s men and sees them move up to seventh on the league table in Group B.
