Baraza is not in good term with the Police FC management despite season of laudable progress.

Success-starved FKF Premier League giants AFC Leopards have made a very bold attempt to prise coach Francis Baraza away from big spending Police FC.

The twelve-time Kenyan champions have a vacancy after their erstwhile head coach for three years Patrick Aussems decided to quit citing personal reasons.

The management of AFC Leopards, already under fire for ‘overpaying’ foreign coaches who have failed to win the title since before Safaricom stormed the Kenyan telecommunication airspace, have moved to placate their critics by hiring a local tactician.

“He fits the bill. He has the interest of the club at heart and has proven that he can handle big teams. The wonders he did in Tanzania and now Police fc made him a target and the club will not stop until they get him,” one agent tasked with ensuing the former Kenyan international takes charge at the den told Twiga

Relations between Baraza and Police FC has been strained in the recent past leaving the tactician disillusioned. A concrete offer from Ingwe will surely do the trick and give them the hottest local coach at the moment.

Baraza joined Police fc last season when the cops had not won a single match after thirteen rounds of fixtures. He exerted his authority and imposed tartical nous to the already talented pool of players at the club and eventually guided them to 3rd place finish.

His charges were just six points shy of eventual winners Gor Mahia and five behind 2nd placed Tusker. Leopards at some point were in the title talk but fizzled out quickly leaving Gor Mahia, Tusker and Nzoia Sugar with Police and KCB deemed distant pursuers.

Leopards are angling towards freedom from a FIFA imposed embargo on signing players and need Baraza’s knowledge and guile in the market to recruit a title winning squad.

Baraza recently recruited former Nzoia Sugar head coach Salim Babu to be his assistant at Police fc and the two ex Sony Sugar legends could soon part ways again as Baraza edges closer to exit the boys in blue.
