Coach Alex isabirye has officially resigned from Vipers Sports Club after winning the club their first-ever double.
The cloud of uncertainty has been hovering around Kitende over the coach’s future, but he has now confirmed that he has decided to leave.
“I have decided to leave for personal reasons,” Isabirye confirmed to Pulse Sports.

Isabirye did not divulge more, but his close confidant revealed that Isabirye demanded to be in charge of his team, which the club’s top brass could not agree to.

According to a letter dated Tuesday, 11th July, that Pulse Sports saw, Vipers claim that Isabirye has gone absent without leave for six days.
“Isabirye wanted to control his dressing room just like he tried to reorganize it when he found it in shambles, but that was not guaranteed,” our source close to the coach revealed.
A player that we talked to on condition of anonymity revealed that Isabirye seemed uncomfortable coming to discover a newly recruited player or coach in training.
“From his reaction, I think he was as shocked as ourselves to see a Brazilian and then the assistant introduced to the team,” the player told this reporter.

TRANSFERS Vipers new assistant coach tipped to replace Isabirye
Vipers SC new assistant coach Raoul Lukusa Kayembe has been tipped to take over the head coach role at the Kitende based club.
“Maybe the president (referring to Lawrence Mulindwa) and the team had not talked to him before, and that’s why he decided to confide to a few players that he won’t return.”
“At first, I thought it was a joke, but he didn’t turn up completely,” the player added.
Sources at Kitende also revealed earlier in March that their former coach Roberto Olivera recommended Isabirye to succeed him before he left for Simba in Tanzania.
Some officials at BUL confirm that the club held on him in December but could not stand in his way when Mulindwa came hunting the second time.

FOOTBALL Uganda Cup Final: Vipers complete league, Uganda Cup double
Vipers SC has etched its name into the 'double class' after winning the 2023 Uganda Cup title following a 1-0 victory over Police FC at the Akii Bua Stadium in Lira.
Isabirye was officially unveiled on March 12th to replace another Brazilian, Beto Bianchi, who had been relieved of his duties unceremoniously.
Isabirye managed 20 games in charge, winning 11 and losing only four as he guided Vipers to their first double.
