Africa Women's Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala has started 2024 in the best possible way with her Spanish club Barcelona Femeni.

Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala was among the scorers as Barcelona Femeni ran riot against Levante Las Planas in the Spanish Liga-F on Saturday night.

Barcelona stunningly kicked off 2024 following a comprehensive 9-1 thrashing of their visitors, with African Women’s Player of the Year, Oshoala ending her goal drought.

Norway’s Graham will make it 4-0 five minutes from half time to give the hosts a commanding lead at the break.

After the break, Barcelona made it 6-0 courtesy of goals from Pina and Patri, who scored a brace, before Las Planes made it a more respectable score line by pulling one goal back in the 63rd minute to make it 6-1.

Two more goals followed before Nigeria’s Oshoala came off the bench to wrap up things with a ninth goal in added time.

Barcelona’s win was the 13th of the season and saw them extend their winning streak to 13 wins in 13 matches, opening up a nine-point lead at the top of the Liga-F standings.
