Former KCCA FC coach Morley Byekwaso might be destined to SC Villa ahead of the 2023/2024 football season, Pulse Sports can reliably report.

While other sources at the club revealed that president Omar Mandela was reluctant to renew the contracts of Jackson Magera and Ibrahim Kirya, it is widely believed that Byekwaso will be at Villa Park next season.

Not in the capacity of the head coach though but an assistant coach to a yet-to-be-named foreign coach.

Last season Magera and Kirya turned SC Villa into a title competitor before losing out to Vipers on the final day of the season.

But it’s believed that Mandela and his executive were not impressed and now want to work with someone with more experience.

Byekwaso has been around but has spent his last eight years at Lugogo, five of those as an assistant to Mike Mutebi and two and a half as a head coach.

But it’s his time as Mutebi’s assistant that many believe got the best out of him reason Mandela is bringing him on board as a number two.

SC Villa is also expected to be very busy in the market as they try to beef up their squad with new acquisitions as they also try to retain those already on their roaster.

Captain Gift Fred’s contract is out and it’s not clear whether efforts are being made to retain him or the player has made up his mind about his next chapter.
