Bettinelli will now remain at Chelsea till 2026 after putting pen to paper on a fresh deal as the club look to maintain stability in the goalkeeping position.
Bettinelli will continue to deputize for Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy, in the hopes that he can force his way into the reckoning.
“It is a privilege to be at a club like Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and a couple of years ago when I signed I was delighted to be here, delighted to sign,” he said upon the announcement.
“To be here now and see the club going through this transition and seeing what we are developing, it is amazing to be a part of and I am buzzing to be here for an extra couple of years.”
Bettinelli has made just one competitive appearance for Chelsea, the 5-1 FA Cup third-round win over Chesterfield last season but was part of the squad that won the FIFA Club World Cup back in 2021.
He was part of the match day squad for both the semi-final and final in Abu Dhabi as Chelsea claimed the title for the first time in their history.
