In what will be their third outing of the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season, Vipers SC will make a trip to Mabira to battle Lugazi FC at the Najjembe Stadium on Thursday.

In the past two games this campaign, the Venoms have lost one (3-1 to NEC) and won the other, a comfortable 3-0 victory against 2020/21 champions Express FC at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.

In the latter outing, skipper Milton Karisa grabbed a brace, while Ghanaian forward Fumador Asiwome sealed the deal on an evening to remember.

Meanwhile, newcomers Lugazi FC are yet to master a point in their maiden topflight season, losing 3-0 and 1-0 to Kitara FC and UPDF FC, respectively in their maiden two games.

With the highlighted results, the Venoms sit seventh on the log with three points, while Lugazi occupy rock-bottom without a single point.

Tomorrow's tie will be the first time in history that Vipers plays Lugazi in a competitive match across all competitions. It presents a perfect chance to write history in this fixture.

However, the two met during a preseason friendly match, with Nikola Kavazovic's charges emphatically winning 4-1 at Kitende. Milton Karisa, Allan Okello and a Kenneth Kimera brace were all Vipers needed for the victory.
