Vyner featured as a right back during Bristol City's 1-0 loss to Frank Lampard's Coventry City.

Harambee Stars defensive prospect Zak Vyner was in action for Bristol City on Saturday evening, but his solid performance at right-back couldn’t prevent a 1-0 defeat to Coventry City in a tightly contested Championship match at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Vyner’s defensive contributions stood out despite the result. The 26-year-old registered one blocked shot and five combined tackles and interceptions, while winning three of his four ground duels and two of his five aerial battles.

He also showcased his attacking intent, frequently pushing up the right flank to support Bristol City's offense. However, his efforts, alongside those of his teammates, were not enough to rescue the Robins from defeat.

The Sky Blues extended their defensive resilience, achieving a third consecutive home league clean sheet for the first time this season. The victory propelled Coventry to 14th in the standings, while Bristol City, with just their second defeat in eight league games, remained in ninth place, four points adrift of the promotion playoff spots.

Coventry  broke the deadlock in the second half  through Brandon Thomas-Asante. The former West Brom striker produced a moment of magic, smashing home a narrow-angle shot via the underside of the crossbar after a precise pass from Rudoni.

Bristol City pushed for an equalizer, but Dovin made crucial saves, notably denying Sam Bell’s effort, while Max Bird’s shot sailed over the bar. Coventry held on to secure a vital win, avoiding the late collapses that had plagued them in recent games.

Silko Thomas Otieno, Zech Obiero feature in League One

In League One, Silko Thomas Otieno played a key role in Wigan Athletic’s dramatic 2-1 win over Stevenage. Otieno, featuring for 77 minutes, contributed to Wigan’s control of the game before being substituted. Dale Taylor’s 55th-minute strike gave Wigan the lead, but Stevenage equalized through Dan Kemp. The match reached its climax in stoppage time when Stevenage’s Louis Thompson received a second yellow card, paving the way for Thelo Aasgaard’s stunning free-kick winner.

Zek Obiero Features in Leyton Orient DrawZek Obiero played 59 minutes for Leyton Orient as they settled for a 1-1 draw with Peterborough. Obiero showed glimpses of his talent but was withdrawn just before the hour mark as both teams shared the spoils in an evenly matched contest.

Vincent Harper was a standout performer for Exeter City, operating as a left wing-back in their narrow 1-0 loss to Birmingham City. Harper’s tireless running and defensive contributions, including seven tackles and interceptions, highlighted his work ethic, but Ethan Laird’s goal proved decisive.

Unfortunately, Harper suffered a head injury late in the match, requiring hospital treatment, raising concerns about his availability for upcoming games.
