Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller revealed their winning strategy in the Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal .

In a pivotal moment for Bayern Munich, Thomas Muller has attributed the team's resurgence to Konrad Laimer's exceptional defensive performance against Martin Odegaard during their recent clash with Arsenal.

Crucial Contribution

Muller acknowledged Laimer's marking job on Odegaard as instrumental in revitalising Bayern Munich's season. 

Muller stated, "The games and the win over Arsenal gave us a little bit of self-confidence," per Standard.UK.

He emphasised the significance of Laimer's defensive prowess in setting the tone for Bayern's aggressive approach in recent matches.

Following a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid in the first leg of their semi-final tie, Bayern Munich remains firmly in contention for the Champions League trophy. 

Muller highlighted the team's belief in their ability to secure victory, stating, "We're in a good mood; we are not playing perfect but we are playing better."

Laimer's Impact

Reflecting on Bayern's narrow victory over Arsenal in the quarter-finals, Muller praised Laimer's tenacious efforts to contain Odegaard, which lifted the squad's spirits and instilled confidence. 

He shared, "This winning feeling, it gave us a little bit more belief in ourselves to be a bit more aggressive in the last few weeks."

Manager Thomas Tuchel also acknowledged Laimer's contribution, specifically highlighting his role in neutralising Odegaard's influence on the pitch. 

Tuchel stated, "Of course we defended against them in the block, but Konni really stuck to Odegaard, played half a man-marker role."
