Victor Osimhen has played down talks of a move to the Premier League, saying it is disrespectful to Napoli.
Osimhen has downplayed rumours of a transfer to the Premier League, claiming that he is still bound to a contract with Napoli and that discussing transfers, under those circumstances, would be disrespectful.
The 24-year-old striker is one of the best forwards in Europe this season and is subject to interest from top European clubs.
What Osimhen said
Osimhen is back in Nigeria to join the Super Eagles camp for their upcoming AFCON 2024 qualifier doubleheader against Guinea-Bissau.
The Lagos-born striker was at a commercial event in the country, where he answered questions. He was asked by one of the attendants what club he would like to join in the Premier League, as he had previously stated an interest in playing in the league.
Osimhen did not give an answer on what Premier League club he would like to play for, as he explained that he is still contracted to Napoli and that it is disrespectful to discuss a possible transfer while still in employment with another club.
Manchester United, who are expected to be in the market for a striker this summer, are said to be interested in Osimhen, among other European giants.
Osimhen now in camp
As we exclusively reported earlier, Victor Osimhen has arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Abuja, according to sources.
The striker touched down in Lagos, where he has commercial obligations, and there he answered questions about his future. He is now said to have landed in the camp in Abuja.
