Johnstone Omurwa's Estrela da Amadora endured a challenging match against Benfica ending with ten men as they faced relentless pressure.

Harambee Stars defender Johnstone Omurwa endured a night of frustration as his side Estrela da Amadora suffered a resounding 4-1 defeat at the hands of Benfica in their Premiera Liga clash on Monday night.

The match at the Estádio José Gomes witnessed a rollercoaster of emotions for Omurwa and his teammates as they struggled to contain Benfica's attacking prowess throughout the ninety minutes.

The encounter started on a promising note for Estrela Amadora with Léo Jabá's opener in the 28th minute injecting a surge of hope into the home supporters.

However, Benfica swiftly turned the tide in their favor before the halftime whistle courtesy of goals from Arthur Cabral and Rafa Silva.

Despite Omurwa's defensive efforts Estrela found themselves trailing 2-1 going into the break leaving the Kenyan international and his teammates with an uphill battle to climb in the second half.

As the game resumed, Estrela Amadora struggled to regain their momentum with Benfica continuing to press forward relentlessly.

Omurwa, tasked with anchoring the defense found himself under increasing pressure as Benfica's attacking onslaught intensified.

The frustration mounted for the former Wazito man as Nicolas Otamendi extended Benfica's lead with a clinical finish early in the second half further complicating Estrela's chances of a comeback.

Despite their best efforts Estrela Amadora's hopes suffered a severe blow when Regis N'Do received his marching orders leaving the home side with ten men on the pitch.

Omurwa, visibly exasperated, marshaled the defense in a bid to contain Benfica's relentless attacks.

However, Marcos Leonardo's late goal in the dying moments of the game dealt a final blow to Estrela's aspirations, sealing a comprehensive 4-1 victory for the visitors.
