FOOTBALL: KCCA FC is open to Brian Aheebwa's stay

The 25-year-old had a brilliant start to life at KCCA, scoring on his debut against Soltilo Bright Stars FC and later bagging a quadruple against Onduparaka FC.

The 13-time StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC are open to the stay of striker Brian Aheebwa.

Aheebwa's three-year contract with the Kasasiro Boys is due to expire this week on Friday, June 30th, 2023.

He joined the Lugogo-based outfit in June 2020 from Mbarara City FC and has endured a bumpy ride at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

The 25-year-old had a brilliant start to life at KCCA, scoring on his debut against Soltilo Bright Stars FC and later bagging a quadruple against Onduparaka FC.

He also netted a hat trick against AS Kigali in the CAF Confederation Cup before a drop in form and injuries limited him to playing time, especially during the reign of Morley Byekwaso.

The player is currently in Hoima taking part in the FUFA Drum and scored one of the three goals as Kitara Province defeated Sebei Province 3-0 at Kigaaya Playground on Saturday.

Pulse Sports Uganda understands that there has been constant contact between the player and the club administrators for a short-term contract.

KCCA will be under the guidance of a new manager, the Portuguese Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil, and they would like to sort out the future of several players, including Aheebwa, as soon as possible.
