The Libyans beat Tunisia’s Olympic Beja 1-0 on aggregate to advance to the second round.

Uganda’s representatives, KCCA FC, will face Libyan side Abu Salim in the second round of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Libyans beat Tunisia’s Olympic Beja 1-0 on aggregate to advance to this round.

Abdulmunem Aleiyan scored the all-important goal for the Libyans from the spot away in Tunis a week before the team defended it in a goalless stalemate on Sunday night.

They hosted Sunday’s second leg at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo, Egypt

On the other side, KCCA FC was given a bye from the first round due to its ranking on the CAF 5-year ranking system.

KCCA will travel to Cairo for the first leg between September 15th-17th before returning to Kampala for the return fixture between September 29th to October 1st.

The aggregate winner of the tie will advance to the CAF Confederation Cup’s group stage.

Ugandans abroad

In the other fixtures, Ugandan defender Nicholas Wadada’s Fountain Gate FC will tussle it out with Future FC from Egypt.

The Egyptian side ejected BUL FC from the first round last season.

Another Ugandan trio of Charles Bbaale, Joachim Ojera and goalkeeper Simon Tamale will look to help Rwandan side Rayon Sport against Al Hilal Benghazi from Libya.
